In a story that we're filing under "the unexpected", the Mk3 Jetta that belonged to Jesse's father in the original Fast and Furious film has sold at Barrett-Jackson for $46,200.  Sure, the car was part of one of the most lucrative movie franchises of all time, but this is quite a lot of coin for an automatic, four cylinder non-turbo Jetta.

How does it stack up against other Fast and Furious vehicles that have sold?  Well, one of the 58 infamous orange Supras built (using overnight parts from Japan) for filming went for $185,000 back in May.  That grey 350Z that DK (that's Drift King, not Donkey Kong) used in Tokyo Drift is currently for sale in the UK at a price of £124,995, or about $180,000.  So while the Jetta is probably the most expensive Mk3 to ever change hands, it doesn't come close to a few other F&F alum.
