MK3 1.8T Engine Conversion Kit in Development at Black Forest Industries

The guys in North Carolina have been hard at work readapting and putting their own touches on a concept that was abandoned many years ago- the process of installing a 1.8T engine into a MK3 utilizing the factory 2.0l ABA wiring harness and ECU. Black Forest Industries has developed their own proprietary distributor that bolts directly to a 20V head allowing the 1.8T to ignite without coilpacks. Given the fact the 1.8T motor will bolt directly into the MK3 chassis this becomes a very feasible swap even for those with a limited mechanical and more importantly electrical skill set. There is no need to worry about immobilizer defeat software, drive-by-wire pedal clusters, or any other wiring headache normally associated with the 1.8T.
