NGP’s Rallye VRT Has a New Home!

They say it only takes one ticket to win; and for one lucky Project Sweep participant, this proved to be the case! Brandon Jones of Hendersonville, Tennessee had the winning ticket when the numbers were drawn on February 18th, 2006. Needless to say, Brandon is one very happy guy! His appreciation of this unique car, and his dedication to the VW scene, should guarantee the NGP Rallye VRt will live on in his deserving hands.

Here is some background on the man and his plans for the car… in his own words:

My VW experience has actually been pretty short, only since early 2003. I grew up in a Mercedes-Benz household & got to travel a lot to Europe thoughout my childhood and teens. I was always big into muscle cars and hot rods, but developed a taste for European cars as well.

When the time came for me to buy a new car (my trusty old Ford Explorer was on it’s last leg), I was looking to get a Mercedes but decided on the spot to pick up a barely used 2002 GTI 1.8T (and it’s all been downhill from there). I quickly dove into the VW scene and began modding my mkIV.

I gained a greater appreciation for VWs and started TNdubs with a friend from Knoxville for like-minded VW nuts in Tennessee in late 2003. Since then I’ve been learning as much as I can about everything VW. I saw the build thread for the Rallye and was amazed at all the work that went into the car.

When I saw that you guys were having a raffle, I decided that even though I probably wouldn’t win, I couldn’t pass up the chance to win (what I consider to be) the ultimate mkII. I guess now that I’m getting the car, I plan on keeping it as long as I can. It will be garaged and cared for like it’s a baby.

Though the occasional dash into the triple digits (on a closed course, of course) will definitely be neccessary. I don’t really know how to react to the amazing luck I’ve had this month, a man couldn’t ask for more. My son was just born on February 15th and now I win an absolutley amazing dream car. I couldn’t be happier (well, maybe if I won the lottery). Ha ha.

Congratulations, Brandon! Take good care of my baby for me!!!
