HPA unveiled for the first time State side the results of over a half decade collaborative R&D on the VR6. In an unassuming MK6 Golf R 4 door is a power plant that delivers 740HP and a daily drivable 700 ft/lbs of TQ. This 3.6L twin turbo VR6 is mated to a highly modified 7speed DSG gearbox from the TTRS.
Carbon fiber body mods from Osir include a front chin spoiler, rear apron diffuser, upper wing and heat venting hood. Some tasteful carbon accents also found their way into the interior.
Recaro Sportster CS seats accommodate Schroth’s 4 point harnesses and the split leather and Alcantara upholstery helps to grip the driver in the curves.
KW Clubsport coilovers suspend the chassis over top of HRE’s new Flow Form FF01 wheels which are built to 19x8.5 ET47. A custom IPA finish was selected to make them stand out against the factory red finish on the Golf. Continental CSC 5P tires in 255/30R19 are the running shoe of choice.
HPA’s FT740 screams past 60mph in 2.8 seconds, surpasses 125mph in 8.9 seconds and flies to 190mph in 22 seconds.
This little Volkswagen made a stir at SEMA earning HPA the 2014 Gran Turismo award for Best European Import, a category judged by the famed Porsche restorer Magnus Walker.
