Being the largest Volkswagen Dealer Group in the Midwest certainly has its advantages. That’s clear as soon as you see the all-new Tiguan and Jetta SportWagen at The Autobarn Volkswagen in Countryside.

Volkswagen’s latest offerings for American drivers are proudly on display, and rightly so. The Autobarn Volkswagen in Countryside was one of the first dealerships in the area to showcase Wolfsburg’s latest vehicles.

That isn’t all that surprising when you consider that The Autobarn features over 600 new Volkswagens in their inventory. The Autobarn has been a Volkswagen dealer since 1992, and in the last 16 years they’ve grown into the largest Volkswagen Dealer Group in the Midwest.

The Tiguan is a small crossover SUV powered by VDub’s 200 horsepower turbo four and backed by your choice of a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic. The powertrain will make the Tiguan more rewarding for the driver than the average crossover.

The Tiguan is outfitted more as a people hauler than an off-road machine. Options include 17 or 18-inch wheels, Park Assist (four wheel steering for parking ease) a huge moonroof and the new Siemens RNS 510 stereo/nav package controlled by a 6.5 inch touch screen.

The Jetta SportWagen is an even more refined multi-person carrier. It’s got great lines for a wagon and is powered by the in-line 5, now rated at 170 horsepower. The SportWagen also offers the moonroof and Siemens Nav system available on the Tiguan.

Richard Kirkpatrick, General Manager of The Autobarn Volkswagen in Countryside said the latest VDubs represent a natural progression for Volkswagen buyers.

“With the Tiguan and the SportWagen, we’ve got a small SUV and a hatchback that fits between the Rabbit and Passat Wagon. They both offer a lot of utility for buyers and get very good mileage compared to most domestics,” Kirkpatrick said.

While Volkswagen has always had a loyal following among enthusiasts, more and more people are tuning into Wolfsburg’s way of thinking.

“Now that prices at the pump are what they are, more people are becoming interested in Volkswagen. Once they get behind the wheel, they appreciate just how rewarding these cars are to drive. A smaller car doesn’t have to be simply utilitarian. Anyone who believes that needs to take a GTI out for a drive,” Kirkpatrick said.

Volkswagen has just come out with new incentives for June. Right now The Autobarn Volkswagen in Countryside has 0 % apr financing on nearly every new VDub model.

Almost every new Volkswagen has 0% financing for 48 months. That includes Rabbit, Jetta, Passat, GTI, GLI and Touareg. New Beetle has 0% for 36 months and New Beetle Convertible has 0% for 72 months.

The Autobarn Volkswagen Countryside has a huge selection of aftermarket tires, wheels and suspension parts. They are dealers for H&R Suspension and The Tire Rack. If there’s a wheel or tire that you want, they can get it.

“We’ve put together some great wheel and suspension packages that will give Volkswagen enthusiasts the performance and the look they want, and save some money at the same time,” Kirkpatrick said.

“We’ve been into Volkswagen a long time, and we’ve always enjoyed automotive performance. That’s why we make it a point to stock as many cars like the GTI and the R32 as we can. Now we’ve got the Tiguan and Jetta SportWagen for the Volkswagen lovers out there.”
