How long have you owned this car?
For about a year.

Is there anything unique about the history of this car?
I’m the third owner. I bought the car with just over 65k on it. The previous two owners took extremely good care of the car.

Why did you choose this car to purchase?
Because of the low mileage and the fact that it’s a Jazz Blue Drivers Edition — there aren’t many of those.

What other cars did you consider?
‘93+ Corrado or an Acura Integra Type R.

What was your objective with this car?
To build something that stood out, but still looks factory.

What tuning style best describes this car (ex. Euro, Bling, OEMplus, street racer, auto crosser)?
OEMplus.

Who helped you build this car?
Mostly myself and my friend Ryan.

What makes your car special?
The fact that it’s a Drivers Edition and that it’s Jazz Blue.

What is your favorite part/feature/function?
The color… it stands out so much, whether you want it to or not.

Who or what inspired the direction of modifications on this car?
Mostly myself and some of the cars on VWvortex… I wanted a car that looks really good and simple, nothing too much, like I didn’t want to go all out on the car.

What don't you like about this car?
It’s not getting younger… only older and most susceptible to problems.

What was your biggest obstacle in building this car?
Having to pay for everyday things and still put money into my car.

How did you overcome the issue?
I just winged it. I worked as much as I could and divide the money into necessities and for pleasure.

What would you change if you could?
Fix all the little imperfections on the body… there’s like three tiny dings.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how satisfied are you with the outcome of this project?
7. I really enjoy it how it stands from the factory… it really doesn’t need much to be a real nice car.

What would you do to the car if money were no object?
3.6 VR6 from a ‘07 Passat, big turbo, 6-speed 4-motion AWD.

Who has been your biggest critic of this project?
Myself.

What do your family and friends say about this car?
My parents say it’s too low.

What is your most memorable/humorous/embarrassing moment with this car?
The day I bought the car, pulling out of the previous owner’s driveway, I broke the Euro lip right after telling the owner I was going to take real good care of the car.

Has this car competed in any events? Results?
[At] Waterfest 13, [it] placed third in Golf 6-Cylinder Mod 1.

What is your favorite place to drive this car?
On the highway and on nice, smooth back roads.

What is your ideal day with this car?
A long driving trip on a nice open highway, just cruising.

Who gets to drive this car?
Me, myself, and I.

If your car had a motto, what would it be?
“It’s a car, just drive it.”

If you had to name your car, what would you name it?
Yazz Blu.

What was your previous project?
1998 GTI VR6.

What is your next project?
A ‘93+ Corrado or an Acura Integra Type R.

What one word best describes your car?
Jazz.
