What was your objective with this car? To make sure it was a great performer in all aspects. It had to have the looks, and performance to back it up. What tuning style best describes this car (ex. Euro, Bling, OEMplus, street racer, auto crosser)? I try to incorporate a little of everything. I have just the right amount of chrome for that “bling” factor, as well as keeping it OEM with OEM 18” Vision V rims, and DriverGear lowering/sport suspension. Who helped you build this car? I’ve done it all myself, from start to… well, I am far from finished. What makes your car special? It is very unique in color, it has my own personal touches in it cosmetic-wise, and it suits my personality. I like being bold, recognized, and looking good. What is your favorite part/feature/function? I’m going to say the 2.0T engine. I love it, it draws amazing power, the sound is intimidating, and it is easy to work with. Who or what inspired the direction of modifications on this car? Actually, everyone! I’ve seen bits and pieces of what other members and enthusiasts have done, and have enjoyed viewing them. What don't you like about this car? Maintenance can be costly, but like they say, you gotta pay to play, right? What was your biggest obstacle in building this car? Finding the time and the funding, but believe me, it’s getting there. How did you overcome the issue? Finding a good fun job and having a great support group of enthusiasts to help out. What would you change if you could? I would chip it.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how satisfied are you with the outcome of this project? 9/10. What would you do to the car if money were no object? I would go all out in terms of body enhancements and performance enhancements. I would put the latest and the best in, without a doubt. Who has been your biggest critic of this project? My girlfriend, hands down. She constantly nags me when I’m looking for some new addition, but I know deep down it’s getting into her. She’s starting to help me find mods. What do your family and friends say about this car? Everyone I have been around loves what I have done with it and have been overwhelmingly supportive of my hobby. What is your most memorable/humorous/embarrassing moment with this car? I would say taking second place in the very first event I entered at a race and show event called “Bug-In” at Bandimere Raceway in Denver, Colorado. Has this car competed in any events? Results? Second place in its very first event, ‘99-‘07 Watercooled Modified Class. Still going strong, too! What is your favorite place to drive this car? Everywhere! It is a blast to drive and when I’m not driving, I’m looking at pictures of it that others have taken at events. What is your ideal day with this car? Waking up, sunrise photo shoot, then opening her up on the roads, and ending the day with a nice clean refreshing wash down. Who gets to drive this car? Me and only me.
If your car had a motto, what would it be? Gotta have the Spice to be nice. If you had to name your car, what would you name it? Kristen. It always seemed like a great name, and works well. What was your previous project? Modding my dad’s 2006 Passat with that good ole 2.0T. What is your next project? My Spice Red gets a few more goodies, not too sure what, exactly. What one word best describes your car? Spicy. Anything else you’d like to share? Definitely a crowd pleaser and a standout. I’ve received numerous comments when people all over see her.
