What tuning style best describes this car (ex. Euro, bling, OEMplus, street racer, auto crosser)? Actually, I really don't know. I'd probably say Euro. Who helped you build this car? Well, my sister's boyfriend found it and he did most of the mechanical stuff to it, the tune-up, the coilovers, the oil changes, and the passenger side floor with the help of a friend. The exterior mods and the polka dot interior I did myself, the head unit was put in by After Dark Installations, and the wheel lips where painted by Statewide Auto Body. What makes your car special? The color and the polka dot interior, they're the first two things people notice about the car. What is your favorite part/feature/function? The dice shift knob. I think it's the coolest thing in the whole car. Who or what inspired the direction of modifications on this car? I just did what I thought was going to look good. I just went with it. I'm always looking for fresh ideas, things that other people haven't done yet. What don't you like about this car? The CIS-E fuel injection — it sucks! What was your biggest obstacle in building this car? The passenger side floor panel. It was about 85% rusted out. How did you overcome the issue? $300 heavy gauge steel sheets from Home Depot, sealer, welds, Herculiner, and two stressful days and one close call (almost blew up the car). What would you change if you could? The quality of the paint job. Whoever painted it didn't do a good job.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how satisfied are you with the outcome of this project? I'd say an 8. What would you do to the car if money were no object? I'd have it stripped down and have the whole body restored and rust free, I'd go to a aero front end, Euro small bumpers, pulled fenders, e-codes, wide wheels, right-hand drive with a full Audi TT interior and a awesome sound system. Who has been your biggest critic of this project? Anyone who has anything negative to say about the car. What do your family and friends say about this car? Everyone but my dad thinks I'm doing a good job at keeping it clean and looking good. My dad thinks I spend too much money on it. What is your most memorable/humorous/embarrassing moment with this car? I would say driving down to H2O '07. I had blue-taped "H2O or Bust" on the windows, and yeah, it kinda gave me bad luck 'cause I broke down three times 'cause my gas pedal kept falling to the floor. So we changed "bust" on one side to "H2O or Butt" and the other side to "I broke down 3x" and I rolled into the BBQ on Saturday like that, and everyone laughed and asked what happened. It was funny but also good times. Has this car competed in any events? Results? Almost every show, just not Waterfest 13 'cause I missed the registration. My first award was second place at the DJD Cult Classic down in Pennsylvania. The second was first place at V-Dub Waterama Show. The third was first place at the DJD Halftime Show. And the fourth one was second place at the Fall Show and Go '07. What is your favorite place to drive this car? Down the shore in the summertime. What is your ideal day with this car? The days it doesn't give me any trouble, which are very rare. Who gets to drive this car? Just me most of the time, but every once in awhile my sister's boyfriend drives it and my friend drives it, too. If your car had a motto, what would it be? SLOWnLOW. If you had to name your car, what would you name it? Frogger, I guess. What was your previous project? This was my first one. What is your next project? I don't know yet, this car might be one of those projects that never end. What one word best describes your car? WACK. Anything else you'd like to share? This is my first car I owned and my first project and I hope people enjoy it. I know I do. Keep it rubbin' and keep it dubbin'.
