A: About 5 months. Q: Is there anything unique about the history of this car? A: Only the long and hard period of waiting for the car to be built. Q: What was your objective with this car? A: To do something new and not to copy anyone's old car. Q: What tuning style would you describe this car as? A: I would say that it is mostly Euro and OEMplus. Q: Who helped you build this car? A: My workmates were very helpful when we installed the bodykit.
Q: What makes your car special? A: One guy said to me at our local GTG, “ I don’t have any idea what you have done with that car, but it looks good, and usually I hate the Golf V.” I think that is one good thing about my ride - it doesn’t look so modified. Q: What is your favorite part/feature/function? A: The engine - I love that torque! Q: Who or what inspired the direction of modifications on this car? A: I think that biggest inspirations for me are German VW magazines. When you've read those since you were 14 years-old (like me), those magazines will definitely affect your taste and I think that you can see that from my current and previous rides. Q: What don't you like about this car? A: Definitely the taillights. I'm really waiting for some manufacturer to make some new lights for the Golf V. Q: What would you change if you could? A: I would like to get rid of that huge front VW symbol. Q: On a scale of 1 to 10, how satisfied are you with the outcome of this project? A: I'd say an "8." Q: What would you do to the car if money were no object? A: I'd like more horsepower. B&B has a kit that includes a bigger turbo and exhaust.
Q: Who has been your biggest critic of this project? A: I think that must be my father. He thinks that this hobby is only a waste of money. Q: What do your family and friends say about this car? A: Almost everybody likes it, though somebody has said that, "You put all that money into that car and it doesn’t even look so different.” Q: What is your favorite place to drive this car? A: Some quiet little road with good tarmac. Q: What is your ideal day with this car? A: Nice sunny day, a couple good mates and me driving to some nice GTG. Q: Who gets to drive this car? A: Only people which I trust. Q: If your car had a motto, what would it be? A: "Sometimes less is more!" Q: If you had to name your car, what would you name it? A: "Smoker."
