While in Germany for the Beetle Sunshine Tour, I managed to sneak away from the press area and walk among the Germans of the northern port town of Travemünde.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, German people drive a lot of German cars. As previously noted, Wolfsburg is somewhat surreally Volkswagen infested. Travemunde, by comparison, is populated more widely by a variety of Germans. Volkswagen and its subsidiaries still feature prominently, though, and just walking around you get to see some cool, interesting, and slightly odd VWs, just out on street.

Frankly, it's a good enough reason to visit. That and the autobahn. God bless the autobahn.
