How long have you owned this car?

Two years.

Is there anything unique about the history of this car?

To start, the only reason I have this car was because my mk2 was stolen the day after Waterfest 08. I needed a car to get to work and my brother in law was looking to get rid of this Jetta. It was already swapped and over the last two years, I have found out that I know quite a few people who either worked or helped build the car.

What drew you to this specific car?

The 1.8t swap really had my interest in this car.

What other cars did you consider?

I looked at a few mk2 VRs and a few mk3 GTI VRs.

What was your objective with this car?

Keep it ultra-low, euro clean, and have it be a material example of my personality.

What tuning style would you describe this car as?

My car would be described as more of a euro styling but with a modern skater twist.

Who helped you build this car?

The exterior was done by New Life Auto Body but the car as a whole was the long hours and cold nights spent in the garage with my friends at Garage Tuning.

What makes your car special?

I see my car as a piece of art. Every detail and modification was done because I like it and was done my way. It may not have all the latest gadgets, or the most expensive set of wheels; but it shows off my personality and what I value in the car I drive.

What is your favorite part/feature/function? 

I love my pulled fenders. They’re my favorite part because they’re subtle. You can tell that there’s been work done but the fender retains a stock shape.

Who or what inspired the direction of modifications on this car? 

I browse plenty of forums and scroll through hundreds of picture threads looking for anything that will inspire me. Most of what’s done to my car has started as some idea in my head that I just ran with.

What don’t you like about this car? 

The next level for me is air ride, it’s the only way I can go lower.

What was your biggest obstacle in building this car? 

Modding a car beyond bolt-ons has been an obstacle using minimal wages. Obviously with money as no object it would be completely different but I’m happy with it given how much I’ve invested.

How did you overcome the issue?

I don’t know yet, I haven’t overcome the issue.

What would you change if you could?

Nothing… Okay maybe I’d switch over to bags.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how satisfied are you with the outcome of this project?

Currently, the car is a 7 for me. The exterior is basically where I want it to be but the interior needs some cleaning up. Re-wrapped seats and some clean up in the engine bay would get the car to a 10.

What would you do to the car if money were no object? 

Shaved bay, built motor, boser front end, coupe conversion, air ride, custom interior, and some 17” polished TH Line monoblocks… The list goes on. Obviously with no budget the car would only get the best of everything but that isn’t very realistic.

Who has been your biggest critic of this project? 

Surprisingly my friends, although they always help me with the car, they’re also my biggest critics. Sometimes my ideas will be a little off the wall and they’re more conservative than I am. At the end of the day though, it’s my car and they support that.

They all seem to enjoy the car and appreciate the work I continue put into the car. They are all also very supportive and always encourage me to do more.

What is your favorite story about this car?

My favorite story would have to be the time I blew out my 5th gear while listening to the song “The Final Countdown.”

Has this car competed in any events? 

I enter this car into most shows but I’m more of about just parking and looking good shows don’t do anything for me anymore.

What is your favorite place to drive this car? 

A nice super smooth road.

What is your ideal day with this car? 

Ideal day would be a nice sunny day, on a smooth road, and a smoking hot blonde.

Who gets to drive this car? 

Who ever can, it has a Limited Slip Diff and a Stage 5 un-sprung clutch, so only a select few can drive the car without getting frustrated.

If your car had a motto, what would it be? 

Ballin’ on a budget.

If you had to name your car, what would you name it?

It’s named Creepo, long story on how it got that name but we’ll save that for a later episode.

What was your previous project?

It was a MK2 16v gti painted cosmic green dumped on my BBS RMs. It also had a AUTObiography done on it.

What is your next project?

A BMW E36.

What one word best describes your car?

Me.
