Next up is VWvortex reader: MikeSc0tt How long have you owned this car? It will be three years in March. Is there anything unique about the history of this car? Not really, I got it brand new in 2005. What was your objective with this car? At first, it was to have a nice luxury car with some European goodies. Then it just turned into trying to do something wild and crazy with it. What tuning style would you describe this car as (ex. Euro, Bling, OEMplus, street racer, auto crosser)? Pimpin’. Who helped you build this car? My friend Misha, who has the best flat blue MKIV on air ride on the ‘tex. What makes your car special? Flat black paint on air ride. What is your favorite part/feature/function? The hardwood floor in the trunk, the Boser hood, and half shaved door pockets. Who or what inspired the direction of modifications on this car? Misha’s flat blue Golf, and a few pictures I found on the ‘tex of flat black Lambos, Lotuses, and Porsches. What don’t you like about this car? Front suspension is a little soft; other than that, nothing. I LOVE IT. What would you change if you could? I am changing the interior and wheels and doing some motor work over the winter and spring. On a scale of 1 to 10, how satisfied are you with the outcome of this project? 11. I love this car to death, and I’ll rate it higher once my interior, motor, and new wheels get done. What would you do to the car if money were no object? Make my car have wings and fly away. No, just kidding. Nothing, really. Everything I did and will do is in the price range. Who has been your biggest critic of this project? My family. First they didn’t like the flat black. You know women and cars, they like shiny paint. But now they actually like the ruggedness of the car. What do your family and friends say about this car? My family now likes it. And my friends say they love it. Who really knows what they say when I’m not around, “This guy can’t even afford clear coat”? Most people do appreciate the car, though. What is your favorite place to drive this car? The Turnpike and Parkway I like, actually. Most would disagree. But summer time is when all the babes are cruising down the shore. What is your ideal day with this car? I have bad eyes, so any time but night time, and when it’s raining. Raining at night time, forget it. The car stays home. Who gets to drive this car? Pretty much just me. If your car had a motto, what would it be? Get grimey!? If you had to name your car, what would you name it? Naming a car is whack, sorry. What was your previous project? I had a bright-ass yellow Ford Focus, with two-tone leather and Lambo doors, which I had for four days. Then I crashed and totaled it in an ice storm, with a full body kit waiting in my garage. What is your next project? I don’t know yet. Maybe a MKIII VR6 Cabby. It’s played out, but I don’t care, I just wanna pimp it out. What one word best describes your car? Fantabulous.
