If their yearly BBQ’s attendance is any indication of business, things are going quite well at Willow Grove, Pennsylvania’s AWE Tuning. Leveraging industry connections and a strong customer base, AWE Tuning’s event was markedly larger than past years with many european marques well represented.
It isn’t just about the cars though. AWE Tuning takes full advantage of the Thursday night crowd to show off some of their latest projects and new pieces currently in development, including an Intake and Turbo-back Exhaust for the MK7 GTI and a few bits for their recently delivered Porsche 911 Turbo S development car. Also available to all in attendance is an all-access tour of the Fabrication and Engineering departments, giving attendees a glimpse into how the latest AWE Tuning performance products are manufactured.
This year marked the second year that AWE has seen fit to close the street running in front of their facility to allow for additional parking, and the first year that they have enlisted local authorities to control the flow of traffic. The additions proved to be worthwhile, as the stream of cars coming and leaving the event was nearly constant, with ‘overflow’ parking directed off of the completely lined street and into the parking lots of nearby businesses. We can only imagine what would happen if the event took place on a weekend.
Taking delivery of multiple new development vehicles like their MK7 GTI and 911 Turbo S, AWE Tuning should have a busy year ahead of them, and that’s a good thing. We look forward to the latest development of these projects, and seeing an even larger turnout at next year’s event.
