Now in its 8th year, VAG Fair continues to expand within the York, Pennsylvania fairgrounds, bringing out many of the most cleanly modified Volkswagens and Audis in the region. While the showfield is quite impressive, VAG Fair’s main attraction is ‘Madness on the Midway’- a display of hand-picked cars to be judged extremely closely in hopes of gaining entry into the “Top Dawg” competition at this year’s H20i.
Madness on the Midway seems to outdo itself each year, with this year’s version including a good mix of most Golf generations and modification styles. From the Rabbit pictured above, to the twin-turbo VR6 MK3 Jetta converted to rear wheel drive, Madness had something for everyone.
A strong component to VAG Fair is the vendor area. While not quite as large as what is featured at Waterfest, the vendors who set up at VAG Fair maintain the event’s laid back feel by bringing in impressive display cars rather than truckloads of merchandise. This works to VAG Fair’s benefit by reinforcing the feel of community that is prevalent during the two day event.
It seems that for the eighth edition of VAG Fair, organizer Cory Sterling has outdone himself. The event seemingly went off without a hitch, while attracting a diverse yet quality selection of cars. We are already looking forward to see what is in store for next year.
