Not only is Tanner Foust back on top of the driver’s championship standings of Red Bull Global Rallycross; not only is his teammate Scott Speed his only competition; but Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross is now mathematically guaranteed the Manufacturers title.

So I guess you could say the team had a pretty good weekend in Seattle, Washington this weekend.

Tanner Foust started this weekend’s final race in first place and never dropped his lead. In fact, he performed so well this weekend, that he led the second place driver by more than three seconds by the end of the short race.

“After not getting the best out of the car in qualifying, we really came back strong in the races this weekend,” said Foust. “It’s awesome to come to a place with such great fans and put on a heck of a show on one of the gnarliest tracks we’ve seen all season. I’m super proud of the whole Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross team to get another win with all the tough competition we’re facing.”

Scott Speed’s weekend wasn’t as easy, but was no less impressive. After being spun by a competitor on the opening lap of his semifinal race, Speed had to fight hard to even make it into the Final.

He did make it, though, and started on the back row. Speed raced his way through the field, eventually earning himself fourth place.

With that, Foust leads the driver’s championship with 465 points. Scott Speed, meanwhile, is in second with 452 points. Third place Steve Arpin, meanwhile, is lagging behind with 399 points.

Only one event remains this season, a double bill at the Port of Los Angeles, on the weekend of October 9.
