H&R Coil Overs and Springs recently took home top honors in a suspension test put on by Auto Bild Sportscars Magazine. When installed on the latest generation Golf GTI, the H&R Coilovers beat all competitors around the 3.345km Contidrom test track in Germany by a 1.5 second margin. With H&R Springs installed on the same car with stock dampers, the GTI lapped one full second faster than the car with stock suspension.

In the April issue of the “Auto Bild Sportscars” magazine, the editorial office compares sports performance springs, sports suspensions and coil overs of renowned manufacturers. The tests were carried out at the Contidrom test track in Germany with a Volkswagen Golf VII GTI. In the test, H&R suspensions and springs competed with products from Eibach, Bilstein, Supersport, Vogtland and Lowtec. And the H&R components achieved the best scores.
The H&R coil over marked the fastest lap time: compared to the test car equipped with standard components, the test car with H&R coil over mastered the 3.345 kilometre long circuit 1.5 seconds faster. While other suspensions lost points due to unstable spring support or coating errors, the H&R suspension did not show any weaknesses – also not in terms of quality and convenience.
Also the tested sport springs of H&R reached top scores. Despite the lowering of as much as 35 mm, the car equipped with H&R sport springs finished the lap more than 1 second faster than the production model. “The competitors cannot quite keep up,” the testers concluded. In addition to the components winning the test, H&R offers “TRAK+” wheel spacers and an anti-roll bar for the Golf VII GTI.
Both H&R coil over and sport springs with 35-mm lowering convince in the Auto Bild Sportscars test conducted with a Volkswagen Golf VII GTI.
