Motorstadt is an annual car show specifically for Volkswagen and Audi enthusiasts, and is sponsored by Steve’s European Automotive out of Waterford, MI.
The first Motorstadt was held in June 2004 at the Oakland Community College in Farmington Hills, Mich. The event was a resounding success, attracting nearly 300 people and 130 vehicle entries from states as far away as Pennsylvania and Missouri. Impressive numbers for a brand specific car show in its first year. Vehicles ranging from Type-1 Beetles, to the latest models from Volkswagen and Audi, were on display.
MIVE is an organization of friends, car enthusiasts, and VW fans. It started in the summer of 1999 when a small group of Volkswagen enthusiasts decided to meet at an ice cream stand one night a week. One year later, MIVE had its first official large-scale event, the Belle Isle Chili Fest, in November 2000. Presently, MIVE has a website (MichiganVW.org) with approximately 1000 registered users. This very active group arranges and attends monthly scheduled, spontaneous, and large-scale VW/Audi-related events in both the Detroit and Grand Rapids areas. To date, MIVE hosts Motorstadt, the Annual MIVE Track Day at Gingerman Raceway, and the Belle Isle Chili Fest. Members also attend Volkswagen and Audi shows at locations across the United States. MIVE continues to grow in member enrollment, and popularity, each year.
DTWAudi is a metro Detroit-based group for Audi enthusiasts. Originally founded as an email based message board, DTWAudi.com has grown into a full-fledged website attracting over 450 members, and growing.
