We’re proud to introduce Fourtitude.com, the complete source for owners and enthusiasts of the automobiles produced by the Audi Brand Group from the latest Audi, Lamborghini and SEAT automobiles to the earliest offerings from Auto Union, NSU, DKW, Horch and Wanderer.
This new web publication is the first to offer full coverage of the newly formed Audi Brand Group, including the gone-but-not-forgotten brands of Horch, DKW, NSU and Wanderer. Fourtitude offers the discussion forums, the latest news, feature cars, technical features, huge photo archives, an events calendar and more, all focused on these cars and the interests of their owners and enthusiasts.
What is “fourtitude”?
The underlying theme of four resounds within the Audi Brand Group, whether it is the four-ring Audi logo, quattro all-wheel drive (quattro is the Italian word for four), four brands forming Auto Union, or the benchmark A4/S4 models which were instrumental in Audi’s modern resurgence in North America.
The name combines the significance of “four” with the word “fortitude,” meaning the strength of mind to encounter adversity with courage. This new word, Fourtitude, captures the very essence of the Audi owner’s personality.
Audi owners choose to do something different by purchasing an Audi. They choose to forego the trendiness of the ultimate driving machine or the three pointed star for what we believe to be a more intelligent choice.
The launch date for Fourtitude, 04/04/04 seems fitting. Besides the numerical theme of the date, the number four has some added weight this year.
2004 is a special anniversary for Audi. Though the earliest origins of the company can be traced to 1899, August Horch Motorwagenwerke AG was formed in 1904 in Zwickau where the company began its first manufacturing of 4-cylinder engines.
Recent announcements of heavy hitters such as Allen McNish and Johnny Herbert returning to Le Mans this year behind the wheel of an Audi R8 signals the the likelihood of a fourth overall victory at Le Mans.
Created by the team behind VWvortex.com, the world’s largest Volkswagen enthusiast website, our staff are long-time owners and enthusiasts of these fine marques. We’ve covered Audi, Lamborghini and SEAT for years and receive requests to build an Audi website regularly.
Doing so, we’ve chosen to approach this as “not just another Audi website”, as there are plenty of strong and well-respected websites out there in that arena. In addition to adding coverage of Lamborghini, SEAT and the vintage Auto Union marques, Fourtitude is dedicated to pushing the limit on delivering the latest news and original content such as feature car coverage, industry interviews, technical articles, live show coverage and much more.
Additionally, we’ve wired Fourtitude’s new discussion forums into VWvortex.com’s own forums database to greatly increase the pool of technical knowledge and improve convenience for those who might own both an Audi and a Volkswagen.
We hope you enjoy Audi, Lamborghini, SEAT and Auto Union as much as we do, and further encourage you to help us build this new website as the best possible source for both owners and enthusiasts.
