For its first two generations, the Jetta was available as a two door coupe. While the coupes never really got a performance version, that hasn’t stopped enthusiasts from creating their own. This brings us to today’s Find of the Day, found right here in our classified section.
This Jetta coupe has been completely overhauled since it first rolled off of the assembly line 27 years ago. Under the hood, the original motor has been upgraded to an AEB code 1.8T and because that was not quite enough, the OEM K03 was replaced with a GT28RS Turbocharger. Currently the boost is set at 8psi, which we assume is due to the turbo only being on the car for 800 miles. A full 3″ exhaust was routed underneath the car and a larger Intercooler is in place to keep things performing smoothly as temperatures (and boost) increase. Inside are reupholstered Recaro seats, a black alcantara headliner, and red striped dashboard and door cards have been installed. Dynamat has also been installed to keep noise levels and heat down. We also noticed the sliding cloth top, which when coupled with this amount of power potential, could be either very cool or extremely scary based on the quality of installation.
