Volkswagen Motorsport has been testing heavily ahead of Rally Germany, intent on overcoming previous year’s hardships at their home event. The folks at the ZeroUndersteer YouTube channel have uploaded a clip of on such practice session, on a former WRC stage in the German countryside with Jari-Matti Latvala behind the wheel of his Volkswagen Polo R WRC.
Jari-Matti looks to be incredibly fast on the narrow tarmac that winds its way through the countryside, but only time will tell what the official pace is. Being an all-tarmac rally, the Rally Germany marks this season’s first majority outing on the surface, meaning that teams will be on different tires and utilizing different suspension settings for the event.
Rally German gets underway on August 21st.
