Five former VW employees are reportedly being sought by Interpol after the US issued arrest warrants today.

German daily, Sueddeutsche Zeitung reports that the five former managers are accused of conspiracy to commit fraud and violation of US environmental laws.

The ex-employees, including two former executives, are unlikely to be apprehended for the time being, reports the Sueddeutsche Zeitung, because the German constitution only allows extradition to Europe or an international court.

If they travel outside of Germany, though, they may face extradition.

Oliver Schmidt, another former executive indicted by the US government, was arrested back in January while visiting Florida. He is now in prison awaiting trial.
