Shakira’s 2007 European Tour ended before 10,000 enthusiastic fans last Sunday in Cologne. This marks the end of an 11 week cooperation on tour between SEAT and Shakira, which started in Hamburg on January 25.
More than 340,000 enthusiastic fans have seen Shakira perform. The largest audience she had was in the Gelredome Arena in the Netherlands with 38,000 people gathered in the unique covered football stadium.
During the tour, Shakira and SEAT held 2 press conferences. The first was held in Berlin on January 26 before her concert in the Max Schmeling Halle in front of 400 journalists that saw Shakira unveil the special SEAT “León Pies Descalzos”. The second was held at the Geneva Motor Show in March when around 2,000 enthusiastic media saw Shakira signing the SEAT “León Pies Descalzos” – probably the largest press conference ever at a Motor Show!
SEAT has been very active in all European countries with a unique advertising campaign in TV, radio and internet, which included a dedicated theme, developed exclusively for SEAT.
SEAT is supporting Shakira’s charity foundation, Pies Descalzos, and will continue to do so until May 15. At present the amount of money raised for the foundation has already reached a total of 116,000 Euros. After the end of the fundraising, a draw will be made and one lucky winner will take home the SEAT “León Pies Descalzos” that will be handed over during the Barcelona Motor Show next June.

I am also delighted with SEAT’s commitment for my charity foundation that will enable even more children to get access to good education and nutrition in my home country of Colombia.”

SEAT is working closely with Shakira’s “Pies Descalzos Foundation”, supporting the artist’s involvement in her special charity for children displaced and disenfranchised by conflicts in Latin America.
