Volkswagen has a long history of spoofing in its advertisements. From re-imagining an A-Ha music video to market the new Passat and Care-Free Maintenance, to poking fun at the unfortunate cultural phenomenon that was “Pimp my Ride” to advertise the then-new fifth generation GTI. In the video below, Volkswagen UK uses a scene extremely similar to one in Speed and numerous other films to show off it’s new Safe Distance Technology.
