Eatough Wins NORBA 24-Hour Solo National Championship Share Comments Chris Eatough captured his second consecutive National Championship title when he rolled through the finish at the 2004 NORBA National 24-Hour Solo Championship. Eatough established himself as the races early leader, created a substantial time gap to his closest competitors, and maintained his lead until the finish. Trek/VW Team Manager Jon Posner remarked how pleasantly uneventful this years Nationals proved to be for his racer, “We didn’t have any mechanicals, any body problems, there were no breakdowns or failures in any way. The race really went like clockwork.” While Eatough has a way of making the task of completing a 24-hour long, non-stop, off-road mountain bike race look easy as he continues to capture championship title after title, it really is a daunting job. Behind each of his victories are countless hours of training, methodical testing of clothing, food and equipment, careful preparation and planning, and the support of his teammates, family, and friends. Many congratulations go out to Eatough as he and his race-day support team of Jon Posner, Mike Eatough, and Allison Foreman are sure to be celebrating his much deserved and well earned accomplishment!
