Our spy photographer in Germany has snapped photos of the Golf 7 R lapping the Nurburgring in Germany. Sporting quad-exhaust pipes and a rumored 280hp with AWD, the Golf 7 R should be lighter than the current version. We expect the first public debut of the new Golf R to be at the Frankfurt Auto Show this coming September. This generation of the Golf R is debuting early and will be sold longer than previous generations. While it will still be fairly limited in production, it will be available for a longer period of time. We don’t expect to see it here in the States for at least a year and a half. We’ll pass along any news we get.
