Team Volkswagen RX Sweden’s Johann Kristofferson had a tough weekend in Hell, Norway, racing in the fifth round of the World Rallycross Championship just missing Sunday’s final race.

It was a tough weekend all along for the Swede, who never quite posted times among the top runners. Kristoffersson did, however, make it into a semi-final race and finished fourth missing third place, and a spot in the final race, by less than a second.

The weekend, meanwhile, was a record setter for Norwegian, Andreas Bakkerud who won every single heat he raced, including the final. He is the first ever to accomplish a perfect weekend in WRX history.

Bakkerud, driving a Ford Focus RS, jumps into fifth place in the driver’s championship, only one spot and two points behind Johan Kristoffersson. The Swede is now tied for third with Peugeot’s Sebastien Loeb at 83 points.

The team, Volkswagen RX Sweden, stay in third place overall with 117 points. They trail Peugeot Hansen (151 points) and EKS (195).

Kristoffersson will be looking for a stronger finish in the next round, his home Rallycross, in Holjes, Sweden on July 1.
