In 2011, an 18 year old Daniel Norris had a $2 million dollar signing bonus deposited into his account.  The Toronto Blue Jays had decided that he would play a key role in the future of their franchise, but Norris decided to not let the money play a key role in his.

Now 21 years old, Norris lives in his 1978 Westfalia van- what he calls his 'dream car.'  Unlike many of his team mates and peers, Norris has shunned much of the indulgences that comes with having that amount of money at such a young age.  He instead prefers to be surfing, rock climbing, hiking or any number of outdoor activities, and his Westfalia is an integral part of that lifestyle.

Norris says that he finds the simplicity of living out of his van most appealing, but does realize that many (including his team mates) think that he is "pretty weird."  Safe to say that if presented with the same opportunities and freedom, some of us would likely live a very similar lifestyle.
