The next generation Volkswagen Touran was spotted out and about near the legendary Nurburgring this week, cloaked in heavily camouflage. Most likely based on the new MQB platform, the upcoming Touran will be have a larger interior than the outgoing model. Based on current trends within Volkswagen, we expect it to be lighter and more fuel efficient than the previous generation.
If the Touran is indeed MQB-based, engine choices will very likely reflect what is available in the Golf and its variants excluding the Golf R. There are rumors of the Touran coming stateside, and with such a large investment being made in the market by Volkswagen, we wouldn’t rule it out.
At the moment nothing has been confirmed for the vehicle, but we will be sure to keep you posted with any new developments that come across our desks.
