This may actually be a waste of your time, and I apologize for that. There’s really not much to report here, and the interesting part of the facelift (ie the face) is covered, but there are new pictures of the new Golf R Wagon, so I feel compelled to share them.

We’re hoping to see more of the new design this fall, and as is suggested by the term facelift, we’re expecting to see the biggest changes up front.

Smart money says that there will be a new front bumper, a new grille, and new headlights. Inside we’re expecting a bigger infotainment screen.

The lack of camouflage anywhere other than up front suggests that no other major changes are coming aesthetically.

The camouflaged R Wagon is testing against a standard, current R, which suggest that changes will be coming to performance.

Autocar suggests that the new Golf R could be seen in their market in early 2017 and be priced similarly to the current model.
