Wolfsburg, Germany – With the new Polo Special, Volkswagen has added to the already wide range of models available for this successful compact car. The “Special” combines well-known Polo virtues such as driving comfort, excellent quality and safety with sporty elegance.
The stylish look is characterised by a selection of four exterior paintwork options “reflex silver metallic”, “jazz blue pearl effect”, “blue-anthracite pearl effect” and “black-magic pearl effect”. In addition, exterior mirror housings, door handles, bumpers and side protective strips are colour-coded. In contrast, the sills are painted black. The elegant exterior is rounded off by dynamic “Montreal II” 6.5 J x 16 alloy wheels with 205/45 R 16 tyres.
This exclusive styling is continued in the vehicle interior. The height-adjustable sport seats are in the “French sportiv” design, the steering wheel, the gear knob and the handbrake lever handle are clad in leather with coloured seams. The pedal covers in aluminium-look and the chrome trim rings on the instrument cluster are striking features.
The “Special” also has the following standard package: asymmetrically split folding rear seat bench, electrically adjustable and heated exterior mirrors, electric windows in the front and rear, an anti-theft alarm with interior monitoring, and central locking with remote control. As a special bonus, the Polo Special is also fitted with an MP3 radio system from Volkswagen Individual.
In addition to the innovative 1.4-litre FSI engine with direct petrol injection (63 kW / 86 PS), the Polo Special is available with a choice of four petrol engines and three diesel engines in the range from 40 kW / 55 PS to 74 kW / 100 PS. Power transmission is via a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Polo Special is available as a four-door car only, at a starting price of 14,800 euros.
