Wolfsburg, Germany- If you like to spend your free time doing sport, you will be well equipped with the Touran. Just in time for the start of spring, Volkswagen is providing the compact van with an interior bicycle carrier for up to two bicycles. Thanks to the Touran’s massive 1,989 litres of load space and the variability of the interior, the bikes can be stowed neatly and safely in the vehicle’s passenger compartment.
The interior bicycle carrier is being offered by the Volkswagen subsidiary VOTEX (Volkswagen original accessories) for the 5-seater Touran and the 7-seater. It can be ordered through the dealerships as an optional fitting for 295 euros.
Whether you are taking bikes, rucksacks, tents or picnic baskets with you on outings into the country, the Touran guarantees absolute driving comfort, even when driving on rough surfaces. Thanks to a tighter damping system and ground clearance which has been increased by 20 millimetres, the Touran’s new rough-road package allows for comfortable and safer driving, even on uneven roads such as field and dirt tracks. The rough-road package can be ordered as an option for all equipment levels and costs 320 euros. It can also be ordered with a special steel drive unit protection plate, for example when there is risk of stone chipping or grounding. The total price is then 510 euros.
