Let's face it, hiding a new Beetle Convertible is really tough. So when VW needs to get some test mules out into the wild there isn't a whole lot they can do to camouflage them. VW took the route of masking off the headlamps and tail lamps to make them look like the old New Beetle. They also added photo stickers of the turnsignals and other bits to try and make it look like the old New Beetle. We removed that stuff on a couple of photos to give a better idea of how it would look.

Overall we expect the New Beetle Convertible to have identical power plants as the current Beetle along with similar trim and model options. Officially the Beetle Cabriolet will be shown at the Los Angeles Auto Show this coming November with marketing introduction to follow shortly afterwards. Pricing hasn't been announced yet, but expect the Cabriolet version to command a slightly higher price premium.
