Volkswagen Passenger Cars has delivered 2.55 million units so far this year, with 531,000 being delivered just last month. This results in an increase of 4.4% over last year’s numbers as well as an increase of 3.9% in sales in May when compared to the same month in 2013. The growth is tied to extremely strong sales in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, with China and Hong Kong receiving over one million units by itself. Sales in North America were down 7.6% over the previous year, but we do expect numbers to rebound a bit with the launch of the Golf and Golf GTI models this summer.
