The Golf GTI design study with close-to-production specifications was revealed this morning during the press conference held at the Volkswagen stand at the Frankfurt International Motor Show.
In his speech, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG, Dr Bernd Pischetsrieder, focussed on the significance of the new Golf and Volkswagen’s new slogan “Aus Liebe zum Automobil” (for the love of cars). The red Golf GTI, at the centre of the Volkswagen stand, was unveiled with the words “Aus Liebe zum Original” (for the love of the original).
Further highlights at the Frankfurt International Motor Show are the fascinating roadster study design concept R, revealed in recent weeks, and of course, the new Golf which is shown with various equipment and engine options.
A range of new models and new versions covering all vehicle classes can be seen for the first time at the Frankfurt International Motor Show. For example, the Polo Fun with new, bold styling, the Polo Sedan, new engines for the Polo, New Beetle Cabrio, Touran and Touareg, the visually modified Sharan, the stretch version of the Phaeton luxury vehicle, and the Passat 2.0 TDI with a diesel particulate filter fitted as standard.
Over 40 vehicles are being exhibited at the 37,000 square meter Volkswagen stand in Hall 3.
