Q: How long have you owned this car?

A: 11 years.

Q: Is there anything unique about the history of this car?

A: Yes - I’ve shortened the trunk about 12 inches.

Q: What was your objective with this car?

A: I have modified it to be a low cost racer, while at the same time I've tried to make it perform as fast as possible.

Q: What tuning style would you describe this car as?

A: Auto-crosser, rally car, production track car.

Q: Who helped you build this car?

A: Garage Paul Delage and Corky Bell with his book, Maximum Boost.

Q: What makes your car special?

A: Its look and turbocharged engine.

Q: What is your favorite part/feature/function?

A: The blow off valve.

Q: Who or what inspired the direction of modifications on this car?

Q: What don't you like about this car?

A: The speed shift system.

Q: What would you change if you could?

Q: On a scale of 1 to 10, how satisfied are you with the outcome of this project?

A: A "9.8."

Q: What would you do to the car if money were no object?

A: I'd buy an Audi TT Quattro, cut its floor and make it full-time AWD, and add a ceramic ball bearing turbocharger!

Q: Who has been your biggest critic of this project?

A: The other autocrossers at my local club and Canadian rally drivers.

Q: What do your family and friends say about this car?

Q: If your car had a motto, what would it be?

A: "Use OEM parts as much as possible, they are tested and reliable yet, even if it’s a Volvo oil cooler!"

Q: If you had to name your car, what would you name it?

A: The Hybrid, or Jetta Coupe Turbo, or Jettolf, or Jetta Ti...

Q: What was your previous project?

A: A 1980 VW Rabbit.
