IAA 2015: Carscoops Catches the Tiguan Ahead of Reveal Share Comments Well that didn’t take long. Just 24 hours after Automobile published that the Tiguan would be shown in Frankfurt, and mere hours after we posted about it, Carscoops managed to snap two photos of the new crossover without any camouflage. Shooting down on the rear 3/4 of the vehicle while it is filming it’s intro video, the photographer was able to get quite a few shots of the car, although sadly none of them show the new face. Let’s think of these shots like those super-cheesy pre-unveil angles used on makeover shows, then. The first thing that pops out at us is just how similar it looks to Audi’s highly successful Q5 from this angle. The panoramic sunroof, low brushed aluminum roof rails and high beltline/low roof styling all are extremely reminiscent of what we currently know as the four-ringed small SUV. And while we’ve yet to see the face of Volkswagen’s new Tiguan, we can safely assume that it will be quite similar to the Cross Coupé GTE shown in Detroit, and the CrossBlue Concept shown back in 2013. To see more of the Tiguan, head over to Carscoops.
