IAA 2015: Volkswagen to Show Next Generation Tiguan in Frankfurt Share Comments According to a report published just yesterday by Automobile Magazine, Volkswagen will be bringing their next-generation Tiguan to Frankfurt for unveiling at this year’s International Motor Show. And for those of us who have been watching closely, this unveiling is massive for the brand, as the new Tiguan is something that Volkswagen has placed an immense amount of importance on. Constructed on the brand’s modular MQB platform, the second generation Tiguan will likely share engine choices with the Golf- namely Volkswagen’s 1.8 TSI, 2.0 TSI, and 2.0 TDI powerplants. We expect the Golf’s current infotainment features and safety technologies to be shared as well. One thing that we aren’t so certain about, is which version will be shown. Volkswagen has made it quite clear that the second gen car will come in both standard and long wheelbase versions, with the longer of the two coming with a third row and aimed squarely at the US market. We’ll have both Jamie and George on the ground in Frankfurt, sending back any and all news as they receive it. To see the entire post on Automobile’s website, click here.
