Audi Celebrates the R8 V10’s 10th Anniversary with the Decennium

Audi is celebrating ten tens with a real tenner. One it’s building ten of. Nope, gotcha. They’re building 222 R8s to celebrate 10 years of the V10.

That’s right, it’s been a whole decade since Audi started putting a V10 into the R8 sports car. To mark that, here comes the Audi R8 V10 Decennium. Which comes from the Latin for decade.

The specials will come in an exclusive matte Daytona Gray paint. The milled 20-inch wheels, along with the intake manifold for that big 10 will be matte bronze. The front spoiler, side sills, and diffuser are gloss black and the side blades are glossy carbon fiber. If you don’t want the celebratory finish, you can get a choice of other shades as well.

Inside, it’s almost entirely black. There are gloss carbon inserts, and copper contrast stitching to brighten things up a bit. There are Decennium logos on the center console, the doors, and the door sills.

But this might be the coolest feature: The logo projectors shine the Decennium logo AND the sequential number of that particular car. Now that’s cool.

So what about that V10? Well, it stays at 5.2L and it’ll make 620 hp and 478 lb-ft of torque. That means 62 mph in 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 206 mph.

The Decennium will go on sale with the rest of the new R8 lineup. That means this spring. The car will start from EUR 222,000 in Germany, but that also gets you a special bronze-colored car cover.
