It’s Really Happening! The RS6 Avant is Coming to the US

Making 592 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque from a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, there’s every reason to want an RS6. And soon you’ll actually be able to buy one because Audi has confirmed that it will offer the wild wagon in the US.

It will offer it after the car makes its public debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show this fall. As excited as we are now, it will be hard to stay patient until it actually hits dealerships.

In the meantime, we can entice you with facts and figures like 0-60 in 3.6 seconds, an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph, tuned adaptive air suspension, a sport differential, and special steering system.

That steering system looks to increase precision by increasing the weight of the steering as the angle increases.

Outside, the RS6 Avant gains some pretty outrageous mods as compared to the standard A6’s reserved appearance. With massive intakes, huge design elements over the twin oval tailpipes, not to mention the bulging hood and the spoiler over the back of the roof, the RS6 Avant looks as aggressive as it will accelerate.

Audi is also promising a quartet of massive carbon-ceramic brakes to go with its massive speed and get you stopped in a hurry.

Audi hasn’t revealed a whole lot about the interior yet, but you will get an RS button, which will store 2 driving modes that you configure. If you’d rather not design your own drive mode, you can use Audi’s standard modes: auto, dynamic, and efficiency.
