Watch The e-tron S Drift

A few weeks ago when information about the e-tron S first dropped, there were static shots of the SEV (we’re coining it) drifting on a track. They were lovely shots, but it’s one thing to see a picture, and another altogether to see 30 pictures per second.

Yes, Audi is continuing the rich tradition that the Lumiere brothers started, of filming machines moving. And let’s be honest, the Lumieres would have filmed that train drifting if they could have.

For those who forgot, the e-tron S will make nearly 500 hp and 718 lb-ft of torque for 8 seconds at a time, thanks to an overboost function. That’s enough time to get from 0-60 (4.5 seconds) and onto the SEV’s top speed of 131 mph.

Power goes to all four wheels, naturally, and the e-tron S can be charged from 5 to 80% charge in just 30 minutes.
