This Audi RS7 May Be World’s Fastest Armored Vehicle

This Audi RS7 might just be the world’s fastest armored car. At least that’s what Wyoming-based creators AddArmor all calling it.

AddArmor, well, adds armor to vehicles. Cars, trucks, SUVs, whatever. They use their own ballistic panels and glass to create an armored vehicle that’s as safe as it is quick. The company says that it’s panels, including polycarbonate body panels, is 10 times stronger than ballistic steel while weighing 60 percent less.

The company adds protection from objects like baseball bats and cinder blocks, or firearms up to a .44 Magnum round. Despite that protection, the company says the RS7 gains only 200 lbs.

Which means that the car is still very quick. That’s because it’s based on the previous RS7 and it’s 4.0L twin-turbo V8. The car started out with 552 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. But AddArmor sent this RS to the folks at APR. Which means that now 760 hp and 800 lb-ft are the name of the day. 0-60 mph in just 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 202 mph. With Pirelli run-flat tires that’ll let the car go for up to 30 miles after sustaining multiple rifle rounds. Though probably not at 202.

There are some offensive capabilities here, too. And we don’t mean that massive engine. There’s a sonic sound cannon, and a 120 dB siren. PLus electric shock door handles and pepper sprayers. Then the trunk holds a biometric-lock gun rack.

You might want to check your local laws about some of those features, though if you can afford the $205,000 asking price, you might not care.
