Find of the Day: 1982 Volkswagen Golf GTI Oettinger 16S Share Comments To those in the know, the Oettinger 16S GTI is easily considered the ‘holy grail’ when it comes to first generation cars. Equipped with an in-house developed 16 valve engine producing more than 130hp, Oettinger 16S converted GTIs were fast enough to outrun many BMWs of the day, and easily outpaced other hot hatches on the market. So when one of these super rare cars pops up for sale, it certainly doesn’t go unnoticed. Recently popping up on German eBay, this 16S appears to be more of a driver than a concours winner even though it has traveled just 107,000 miles since new. The seller also claims that the vehicle has never been in an accident, but aside from that, there really isn’t a whole lot of information given on its current state. What we can deduce, however, is that all of the Oettinger bits are still installed on the car, meaning that it will be a great addition to the next owner’s collection. This Oettinger 16S is currently available on German eBay for 27,500 Euros ($30,764.25 USD), located just outside of Luxembourg, Germany. Check out the full ad, right here. Thanks to David for the tip!
