Find of the Day: 2013 Volkswagen Golf R Share Comments Thread (18) OEM+ has long been a staple of the Volkswagen tuning scene, with owners simply building what they want but can’t buy straight from the showroom of their local dealer. This Golf R takes that approach to an entirely new level, combining OEM pieces with aftermarket performance to create a one-of-one that needs to be seen to be appreciated. Belonging to a current employee of APR, the Golf R has the lengthy list of upgrades under hood that you’d expect, including an upgraded turbocharger (although not APR’s typical Stage 3 setup), and everything else APR currently offers for the platform. Inside the car, OEM+ touches like European seats with Suede inserts, color MFD Cluster, Mk7 Climatronic controls and more work to set the car apart, but the largest change to this Golf R is found between the seats. Moving away from the 6-speed manual equipped as standard, this owner has swapped in an OEM DSG unit, creating the only four door DSG Mk6 Golf R this side of the Atlantic. The owner claims to have roughly $40,000 into the project, which from the list of modifications, isn’t hard to believe. At an asking price $32,000, this Golf R represents an incredibly solid value for anyone preferring to ‘buy it built’. Additional images and information can be found right here.
