Fowler VW is Back with the Best Christmas Album of the Year

For the ninth year in a row, Oklahoma’s Fowler VW has collaborated with Blackwatch studios and a menagerie of fine artists to assemble the only Christmas album that matters (apart from Merry Christmas by Mariah Carey).

The album is streaming for free at Fowler VW’s Christmas Band Camp page. The dealership accepts donations, though, all of which go to Norman, Oklahoma’s public school elementary music programs.

This year’s album features the likes of Colourmusic, Twiggs, the Wurly Birds, and more. It also features Christmas classics like “Last Christmas” as well as originals like Christmas for Cowboys, all of which are excellent.

It’s the perfect album to throw on when the light is low and the fire is crackling like a metronome.

The project started way back when Jonathan Fowler, now President of Fowler VW, was just the General Manager. Fowler was looking for a way to promote the dealership and also happened to be a passionate fan of the local music scene.

“His marketing team came alongside and they came up with the idea to create a free vinyl record,” Kristen Vails, Fowler Automotive’s Director of Community Outreach told us last year. “Blackwatch is the talented team who handles the selection, production, and creative behind the record each year, and now we at Fowler just get to make it happen by funding the project and distributing the records.”

Along with this album, A Black Watch Christmas Vol IX, volumes I through VIII are also available at the Fowler VW Blackwatch band camp page. As you well know, we are devoted fans of Lights, Camera, Christmas, which featured on “A Blackwatch Christmas Vol VII,” but there are hits in every pressing.
