Italdesign Could Name its Next Project DaVinci Share Comments Audi-owned styling house Italdesign will debut a new car at the forthcoming 2019 Geneva Motor Show and our sister site, Fourtitude, may have dug-up the name and logo of this mysterious new project. Italdesign recently filed to reserve the name DaVinci with the European Intellectual Property Office, we can report, along with an accompanying logo. The timing of the filing is likely an indicator that the Geneva show car will be called this, but Italdesign is a large company that we assume has a number of projects in the works at any given time, so it’s hard to say for sure. The design house released a teaser video for its Geneva 2019 show car on its YouTube channel late last month, but the video makes it hard to tell exactly what part of the car is shown. It appears as though the video is panning up from the bottom of the front fascia, revealing a single center grille post before stopping at an illuminated ‘Italdesign’ grille badge, but you can check it out below and decide for yourself. It’s likely the Geneva show car will be based on a VW Group product of some sort and we’re willing to bet it will be electric or hybrid, considering the automotive giant’s current focus on hybrids and EVs. Fourtitude will have all the details on the Italdesign DaVinci once they become available.
