Watch: What Happens When the Huracan Performante Goes Toe to Toe With the Aventador SVJ?

It may not seem like a very interesting test, but keep in mind that when CarWow raced the Aventador SV against the Huracan Performante, the smaller V10 car won. So, even though it’s the baby in the lineup, it’s exceedingly fast.

However, despite doing everything in its power to keep up, the Huracan just can’t keep up with the V12 SVJ. No matter how good the start, the Aventador claws its way back past its little sibling.

That’s thanks to a roughly 100 hp power gap. The Aventador’s 6.5-liter V12 makes 770 and 531 lb-ft of torque. The Huracan’s 5.2-liter V10, meanwhile, makes 640 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. At 1,507 kg (3,322 lbs), it does weigh less than the Aventador, but not by as much as you’d think. The Aventador, in SVJ trim, tips the scales at just 1,525 kg (3,362 lbs).

That weight advantage does allow the Huracan to slow down faster than the Aventador (maybe) but in every other challenge (the standing or rolling drag), the Aventador can simply outmuscle the smaller car.
