Lamborghini Teaming Up With LEGO Technic for 1:8 Scale Model

For the first time ever, Lamborghini and LEGO Technic are building a set for you to later build. The set will launch this summer but just which car it will be, remains unknown.

Although LEGO and Lambo are keeping mum about exactly which model it will be, speculation suggests that it will be the Sian thanks to the three bars of light in the press image used.

The model will be at 1:8 scale, so don’t expect it to be cheap. LEGO Technic has made a habit of selling super fast VW products, with a 1,500-piece set of the 911 RSR and a 1:8 scale model of the Chiron with a rotating W16.

Lamborghini makes a point of mentioning that LEGO Technic allows for the construction of transmissions and differentials in its press release, which feels like a hint that its kit may be motorized. An electric motor in a LEGO set may be the perfect way to get nerds excited about a supercar with its own electric motors.

“The LEGO group has amazed entire generations with beautifully simple or extremely complex constructions,” says Katia Bassi, Lamborghini’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. “In the digital age, where entertainment is often via a screen, our collaboration with The LEGO Group allows enthusiasts to live a real experience, reproducing a Lamborghini super sports car in every detail to create an outstanding model, just like the real car.”
