Spied: The Upcoming, Updated, Upgraded Tiguan Share Comments It’s been less than a week since Volkswagen unveiled the Atlas’s new front end, and already we’re looking forward to the updated Tiguan. Spied by Cochespias and posted to Instagram, the new Tiguan’s new design follows much the same design path as the new Atlas. That said, though, the new headlights are pure Mk8 Golf. And that kind of makes sense, since it sits between the two cars in the lineup. The Tiguan pictured features Wolfsburg plates, so we would anticipate a European reveal before any US unveilings. The two cars are largely the same, though, with the exception of the US only getting the extended wheelbase version. European reports suggest that the European version, though, will be available with many of the same powertrain options as the Golf. It will be interesting to see, therefore if we get any of the mild-hybridization on the Tiguan that we are (presumably) being denied on the Golf.
