Trademark Application Shows The Atlas Basecamp May Become a Reality Share Comments Trademark filings uncovered by Carbuzz show that Volkswagen is interested in calling dibs on the Basecamp name. The name was first used at the New York Auto Show last spring and was applied to an outdoorsy, off-roady trim package of the SUV. The concept was designed to help mountain bikers get everywhere they need to be and included a roof rack, chunky off-road tires, an H&R lift kit, a trailer with a queen-size bed, and some nice Fifteen52 wheels to round out the look. VW is set to unveil an updated version of the Atlas at the Chicago Auto Show next month.
