VW Brings Three High and One Low to SEMA Show Share Comments Volkswagen is bringing some concepts vehicles to the SEMA show this week, including three off-road themed Atlas models and a GLI with some more gee added to the body and suspension. SEMA is the show for the aftermarket accessory world, which means that it’s full of concept cars and builds that take stock and make it rock. Well, sometimes, at least. Others are just an exercise in throwing the catalogue at a car, end result be darned. These VW ones are more of the former, though, to little surprise. The first one is the Atlas Basecamp, built on an Atlas SEL Premium with the 3.6L VR6, but fitted with a platinum grey finish. Add to that orange accents that really set this one off. It’s loaded with accessories like the fifteen52 Traverse MX wheels that debuted on the Basecamp concept last year but are now bound for production this fall. It’s also got an Air Design USA body kit, H&R raising coilovers to take it up an inch and a half, Front Runner roof rack system, and interior protection from the VW catalogue. VW’s Innovation and Engineering Centre made the Atlas Adventure to be an overlander. It’s lifted on H&R Suspension with chunky Yokohama tires wand Air Design USA fender flares. There’s a built-in Dji Mavic drove with action camera system to share all the cool stuff you do off-road. An Overland Equipment tent and Thule awning let you stay in the desert longer. For the urban dwelling outdoor adventurer, the Atlas Concept by Thule gets the lifted suspension and 20-inch Vossen wheels with gloss black trim and accents. A Thule Wingbar Evo roof rack, HideAway owning, and T2 Pro XT hitch rack let you take your stuff to the woods and a rooftop tent helps you stay there for the weekend. Finally, if you want to stay on pavement, the GLI by H&R takes a six-speed GLI and adds H&R Street Performance Coilovers, H&R sway bars, and H&R wheel spacers, plus 20-inch Rotiform alloy wheels with tires that finish off the look of this slammed Jetta.
